Man held at airport with drugs
A Bangladeshi man reportedly attempted to smuggle two kilograms of marijuana into Bahrain by stashing the quantity in his slippers. The defendant’s behaviour upon his trial evoked the suspicions of customs officers, who inspected him.
When his slippers were put in the x-ray, a strange material was found. During interrogation, the defendant said that he was not aware that marijuana was stashed inside the slippers. He added that they were given to him by his relative, who requested him to give it to someone in Bahrain.
