Hubby’s plea rejected in harassment case
A young Bahraini man’s appeal was rejected in the case of harassing his wife. The 25-year-old defendant was fined BD100 for cutting the hair of his wife and beating her up after suspecting her of cheating on him.
The case was reported to police by the 22-year-old wife, who revealed that she was attacked and her hair was shaved by her husband, who also inserted a cigarette in her private part. “He insulted me and forced me to smoke cigarette as he was accusing me of cheating on him.”
“He asked me to cut my hair to prove my fidelity to him. I went to the toilet and I cut part of my hair. But he then came to me with a cutting machine and shaved most of my hair,” she explained.
“I stayed with him for two weeks. Later I fled to my father’s house and complained to the police,” she added.
