Brave celebrates first anniversary

Manama : Wishes poured in from athletes all over the world as Bahrain’s first sports media property, the Brave Combat Federation, celebrated its first anniversary on the occasion of the birthday of the founder of the organisation, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.  

International MMA fighters and combat sports community conveyed their Birthday wishes and greetings to His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and founder of Brave Combat Federation. His birthday also coincides with the first anniversary of Brave Combat Federation which is an initiative born in Bahrain and gave an international platform for athletes across 32 nations.

“His Highness has set new frontiers for athletes to showcase their abilities, the support we received and the resulting change in the sports sector has been overwhelming and it is no wonder that the world is reciprocating their gratitude towards the Kingdom of Bahrain and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa,” said Hamza Kooheji, Professional MMA fighter from Bahrain and youth icon.

“As a Bahraini national, this is a proud moment for me,” he added. 

Athletes from Philippines, India, Brazil, USA, UK, Germany, France, Morocco, Sweden, Russia, Mexico, Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain and many more had poured in greetings and conducted an online campaign to make the occasion special.

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa is also the first royal to compete in combat sports. Out of two bouts, His Highness had secured victory twice and has remained undefeated in his fight career. Within a year of operations Brave Combat Federation has created global impact reaching out to 135 athletes from 32 different nations located across 5 continents in the world. The organisation hosted events across 6 nations around the world. 

Brave has also opened business in content creation, television distribution and licensing. The Federation has attracted partners across the world including El Rey Network in USA, Combate in Brazil, Venum in Brazil to name a few. Bahrain also produced the first film which was televised around the world SMILE, as an initiative of Brave Films, the subsidiary of Brave Combat Federation.

Brave, which has brought overwhelming exposure to Bahrain as the top combat sports destination in the region, will soon host the largest Mixed Martial Arts event in Asia on November 17th titled Brave 9: Kingdom of Champions in the Kingdom.
