Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri has announced that Hezbollah is prepared to withdraw its forces from southern Lebanon, provided Israel fully pulls back its troops and a comprehensive truce is permanently established.
The statement marks a major diplomatic developments in resolving the regional conflict. Berri, who frequently mediates on behalf of Hezbollah, emphasized that any sustainable resolution hinges on Israel strictly adhering to a complete ceasefire and ending its military incursions across the border.
International mediators, led by the United States, have been working urgently to finalize a diplomatic roadmap. The proposed framework aligns with the enforcement of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, which mandates the disarmament of militant groups and restricts the presence of armed forces in southern Lebanon exclusively to the Lebanese national army and UN peacekeepers.
