Amman and Riyadh push for stability amid Gulf tensions

Jordan and Saudi Arabia discussed regional tensions and condemned recent attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait during a high-level phone call between their foreign ministers, according to official statements.

Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, spoke with Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, as part of ongoing coordination between the two countries on regional developments.

During the call, both ministers reviewed the latest regional escalation and emphasized the need to intensify diplomatic efforts to end the current tensions. They stressed the importance of restoring security and stability through sustainable political solutions.

The two sides also strongly condemned what they described as “treacherous Iranian attacks” targeting Bahrain and Kuwait. They said such actions violate the sovereignty of the two Gulf states and undermine broader efforts to de-escalate regional tensions.

In addition to security discussions, Safadi and Prince Faisal explored ways to deepen bilateral cooperation between Jordan and Saudi Arabia across multiple sectors. Both reaffirmed the “historic fraternal relations” between the two kingdoms and their shared commitment to strengthening ties.
