Van Gogh's Masterpieces Finally Reunite After 42 Years

The Hague, Netherlands: The Kröller-Müller Museum in the Netherlands has reunited its entire private collection of 88 paintings by Vincent van Gogh for the first time since 1984. 

Running from Tuesday until January, this landmark exhibition features iconic masterpieces such as ‘The Potato Eaters,’ ‘Terrace of a Cafe at Night,’ and ‘The Old Tower at Neunen’.

As one of the largest private holdings of the 19th-century Dutch master, the collection is rarely displayed together, making this event one of the most significant art exhibitions of the century.

 Most of these valuable works were originally acquired between 1908 and 1930 by the museum's founder, Helene Kröller-Müller.

The exhibition uniquely presents all 88 paintings in relation to the three divine virtues of faith, hope, and love. 

Museum officials note that these central themes defined van Gogh's life and work, reflecting his enduring artistic mission to offer comfort and hope to others.

Van Gogh created around 900 paintings during his brief, prolific career before his death in 1890 at age 37, producing many of his most famous pieces in France.
