Bahrain will host one of the region’s leading capital markets events later this year as Bahrain Bourse, in collaboration with the Arab Federation of Capital Markets, prepares to stage “The Market 2.0: Bahrain 2026” conference on December 3 under the patronage of Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Held under the theme “Markets in Motion: Powering the Next Era of Trading,” the conference will bring together more than 500 participants, including stock exchanges, regulators, financial institutions, investors, brokerage firms, listed companies, and technology providers from across the region and beyond.
The event will focus on the future of capital markets and the transformation of trading ecosystems through technology, data, and advanced market infrastructure. Discussions will cover topics such as trading platform modernisation, liquidity access, market surveillance, execution strategies, and post-trade operations.
Industry leaders will also examine how automation, artificial intelligence, and real-time market technologies are reshaping global financial markets, improving efficiency, resilience, transparency, and long-term sustainability.
Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Bourse, said the conference reflects Bahrain’s ongoing commitment to developing its capital markets ecosystem and strengthening its position as a regional financial hub. He noted that the event will provide a valuable platform for market participants to exchange insights, explore emerging trends, and support innovation and collaboration across the industry.
Rami El Dokany, Secretary General of the Arab Federation of Capital Markets, described the conference as an important platform for advancing the technology agenda of Arab capital markets. He highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence, automation, cloud technologies, data analytics, surveillance systems, and post-trade innovation in shaping the future of regional exchanges.
The conference follows the success of the 2025 edition and is expected to further reinforce Bahrain’s role as a key centre for financial innovation and capital market development in the region.
