GILGIT: Polish ski mountaineer Andrzej Bargiel has made history by completing a full ski descent from the summit of Nanga Parbat without using supplementary oxygen. The landmark achievement cements his legacy as one of the world's premier extreme athletes.

The 38-year-old climber reached the 8,126-meter summit on June 30, 2026, before executing an uninterrupted ski descent back to Base Camp. He safely navigated more than 3,700 vertical meters down the mountain's legendary Messner Route.

With this triumphant descent, Bargiel has fulfilled a massive, years-long goal. He has officially become the first person ever to climb and ski down all five of Pakistan's formidable 8,000-meter peaks without oxygen.

This latest triumph adds to an extraordinary global record. Supported by Seven Summit Treks and climbing partner Janusz Gob, the historic expedition closely follows Bargiel's unprecedented oxygen-free ski descent of Mount Everest last year.
