The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has closed a tourism office after detecting violations involving the failure to fulfil contractual obligations to clients.

In a statement issued on Friday, the authority said it took the necessary administrative measures in accordance with the regulations governing tourism activities in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

BTEA said the closure is part of its ongoing efforts to regulate the tourism sector, maintain high service quality standards, and ensure that tourism offices comply with approved laws, regulations and operational requirements.

The authority reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening oversight of tourism offices and related establishments to promote professional and contractual compliance while safeguarding customer rights.

It added that the enhanced regulatory measures are intended to ensure tourism services are delivered with the highest levels of quality, reliability and transparency, reinforcing customer confidence and supporting the sustainable development of Bahrain's tourism sector.
