Agra: A missing person case in Agra took a chilling turn when police found the death of a 45 years old man buried beneath the toilet floor of his home, some 45 days after his wife reported him missing. Police arrested the victim's wife, Ruby Sharma, on murder charges and are looking into if anyone else helped conceal the crime.

Surendra Sharma, the victim, has been missing since the middle of May. According to authorities, Ruby Sharma first filed a report of a missing person and even assisted relatives and police in their search for her husband, apparently in an attempt to divert suspicion. Conflicts in her testimonies, combined with suspicions expressed by Surendra's brother, led the authorities to further forward their investigation.

Ruby apparently confessed to killing her husband while being questioned. Police said they dug up the bathroom floor of the couple's house, breaking through a layer of concrete before recovering the decomposed body buried beneath it. In an effort to permanently hide the crime, authorities believe the body was hidden there soon after the reported murder.

According to preliminary investigations, the murder was well planned. The precise order of events, the reason for the murder, and whether anyone else helped bury and cover the body with cement are all being investigated by the police. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and forensic specialists have gathered evidence from the home.
