Barcelona: Catalan police arrested Jonathan Andic, son of Isak Andic, the founder of 'Mango' in connection with his father's death while climbing in the Montserrat highlands outside Barcelona in December 2024.

Isak Andic, the billionaire businessman who founded the global fashion company Mango, died after falling more than 100 metres into a gorge while hiking with his son. The incident was initially ruled an accident, but authorities reviewed the case after contradictions were discovered in Jonathan Andic's testimony and other circumstantial evidence.

According to the judiciary, Jonathan has been under investigation since 2025, when the case was identified as a possible murder. His status was then changed from witness to suspect after authorities found differences in his version of the incident and the precise sequence of events throughout the hike.

According to reports, investigators also looked into previous movements, statements, and the strained relationship between father and son, which included disagreements over business and inheritance. However, no public evidence has been revealed, and the matter remains under judicial secrecy.

Jonathan Andic stated that that the fall was accidental and denied any involvement in his father's demise. He will be presented before a Martorell court, where a judge will decide whether to pursue legal action. The authorities haven't announced if legal proceedings would be filed.
