Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to the UAE president, on Sunday condemned dangerous escalation by Iran following missile and drone attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates, calling the strikes “moral bankruptcy”.
In a statement posted on social media, Gargash said the targeting of civilians reflected the actions of a “regime that has chosen aggression over coexistence”, adding that such behaviour would not alter the UAE’s approach toward regional relations.
“The UAE’s firm and principled position would not be shaken by the escalation and would not allow it to shape the future of relations in the region,” he said, adding: “Once again, Iran has miscalculated.”
