Cabinet Orders Public Health Measures

MANAMA: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting on Monday at Gudaibiya Palace.
The Cabinet welcomed the outcomes of the recent visit of His Royal Highness Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, Crown Prince of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, noting the strength of Bahrain–Jordan relations and cooperation across multiple sectors.
Ahead of Labour Day, the Cabinet highlighted the competence, skill and creativity of Bahrain’s national workforce, commending the achievements of “Team Bahrain” across various fields.
On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, ministers praised journalists and media professionals in the Kingdom for supporting national priorities and upholding professional standards.
The Cabinet also instructed the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture and the Ministry of Health to take urgent measures to address the rising presence of mosquitoes across the country, strengthening control operations and field monitoring to protect public health.
Ministers further reviewed steps taken to address the impact of what was described as hostile Iranian aggression against Bahrain.
The meeting approved several memoranda, including a memorandum of understanding between the Agricultural Affairs and Animal Wealth Department at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture and the National Initiative for Agricultural Development, aimed at strengthening agricultural entrepreneurship training programmes.
A second agreement was approved between the University of Bahrain and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Medical University of Bahrain.
The Cabinet also endorsed the government’s response to a number of proposals submitted by the Council of Representatives.
In addition, ministers reviewed reports on Bahrain’s participation in the 38th session of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, as well as updates on ministerial foreign engagements and visits to the Kingdom during May 2026.
