WASHINGTON DC: U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) issued a firm denial on Monday regarding viral claims that an F-15 fighter jet was shot down over Kuwait. Attributing the reports to a ‘rampant’ disinformation campaign by the Iranian regime, CENTCOM clarified that no U.S. aircraft have been downed.

"The disinformation campaign from the Iranian regime is rampant," CENTCOM said in a post on X. "Lies about U.S. aircraft being shot down by Iran have been circulated multiple times on different platforms using fake or misleading imagery."

The military noted that these narratives often rely on deceptive visuals to mislead the public. This follows the circulation of online videos showing a plane trailing smoke and falling from the sky, which CENTCOM maintains are part of a recurring pattern of fabrication.

"To be clear: No U.S. fighter aircraft have been shot down by Iran," the command stated. This marks the latest in a series of formal rebuffs as CENTCOM continues to combat false reports of military losses across the Middle East.
