The Art Hotel & Resort marked World Food Safety Day by hosting what is believed to be Bahrain’s first dedicated forum bringing together food safety professionals, industry experts, and government representatives to discuss the latest developments, challenges, and best practices in food safety.
The event featured Mr. Fahad Algharib, Head of the Local Food Safety Group at the Public Health Directorate, Ministry of Health, as a keynote speaker. During his presentation, titled “Food Safety: From Burden to Solution – Safe Food Everywhere,” he highlighted the importance of strengthening food safety systems, enhancing collaboration between regulatory authorities and businesses, and promoting a culture of food safety across all sectors.
The forum also welcomed a distinguished lineup of speakers from leading organizations in the food, quality, and certification industries. Topics covered included food safety excellence in food distribution, emerging trends in food safety, international food safety standards, integrated pest management, and successful food safety management system implementation and certification practices.
As part of the program, Mr. Muhammad Nadeem, Quality, Health, Safety & Compliance Manager at The Art Hotel & Resort, presented the hotel’s food safety framework and shared insights into the procedures and standards implemented across the property to ensure the highest levels of food quality, safety, and guest satisfaction.
The event provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and professional dialogue, reinforcing the critical role of food safety in protecting public health and maintaining consumer confidence. It also highlighted the importance of continuous improvement, industry collaboration, and adherence to international standards throughout the food supply chain.
