NBH Future Energy Leaders Program Announces 2026-2027 Postgraduate Scholarship Recipients

The NBH Future Energy Leaders Program has announced the recipients of its postgraduate scholarships for the 2026-2027 academic year, marking another important step in developing the advanced capabilities required to shape the Kingdom of Bahrain’s energy future.

Selected through a rigorous and highly competitive evaluation process, the recipients demonstrated outstanding academic performance, strong professional achievements, and clear leadership potential. Their selection reflects the program’s ambition to build a pipeline of highly qualified Bahraini talent ready to advance the Kingdom’s energy transition and contribute to its long-term growth.

The scholarship recipients will pursue master’s studies at leading international universities in strategic fields, including Sustainability and Energy Engineering, Nuclear Engineering and Sustainable Energy Futures. Through access to world-class academic programs, they will gain specialized knowledge and expertise in disciplines that are increasingly important to the transformation of the global energy landscape.

The four scholarship recipients are:

• Khalid Tariq Al Arabi, an employee of Bapco Refining, who will pursue a master’s degree in Sustainable Energy Futures at Imperial College London in the United Kingdom.

• Haya Jassim Darwish, an employee of Bapco Refining, who will pursue a master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering at Texas A&M University in the United States.

• Hamad Osama Al Bannai, an employee of Bapco Refining, who will pursue a master’s degree in Sustainability and Energy Engineering at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom.

• Mohammed Ali Al Mudaifa, an employee of Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), who will pursue a master’s degree in Sustainability and Energy Engineering at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom.

Collectively, the recipients bring experience spanning engineering, sustainability, industrial operations and commercial disciplines. Their academic and professional accomplishments, combined with their drive to create meaningful impact, position them to support innovation, strengthen organizational capabilities and contribute to the continued evolution of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s energy sector.

The postgraduate track forms part of the NBH Future Energy Leaders – Scholarship and Career Development Program, a flagship national initiative designed to provide high-potential Bahrainis with advanced academic opportunities and a comprehensive development pathway. By connecting education with the Kingdom’s future capability needs, the program aims to prepare a new generation of leaders equipped to navigate an increasingly complex and rapidly changing energy landscape.
