Bahrain wins Arab Parliamentary Excellence Award

The Kingdom of Bahrain achieved a significant milestone by clinching the prestigious Arab Parliamentary Excellence Award during the thirty-third meeting of the Arab Parliamentary Union held in Baghdad.

His Excellency Representative Abdulnabi Salman, First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, was honored with the award in the second category, while His Excellency Counselor Rashid Mohammed Bonejma, Secretary-General of the House of Representatives, secured the award in the third category.

Additionally, distinguished representatives from other parliamentary bodies were recognized for their contributions.

Representing the delegation of the Parliamentary Division of Bahrain, His Excellency MP Ahmed Abdul Wahed Qarata, Second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, actively participated in the event, underscoring Bahrain’s commitment to regional parliamentary cooperation.

The meeting, presided over by His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Siddiq Khoshnaw, representative and Vice-President of the Arab Parliamentary Union, saw the participation of parliamentary representatives from the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Federal Republic of Somalia, the Sultanate of Oman, and Bahrain.

Furthermore, esteemed experts in parliamentary affairs from various countries, including the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, contributed to the discussions.

However, His Excellency Mr. Fayez Al-Shawabkeh, the Secretary-General of the Arab Parliamentary Union, expressed regrets for his absence, while the President of the Association of Secretaries-General of Arab Parliaments and Councils, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Nasser Ibrahim Al-Fadala, was unable to attend.
