Exhibition World Bahrain inaugural events a ‘big success’

Tourism Minister Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi has hailed the Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB) for successfully hosting its first three exhibitions concurrently from November 22 to 26.

Al Sairafi affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to support the exhibitions and conventions industry as part of the set objectives of the Tourism Strategy (2022-2026). She stressed that the recent inauguration of Exhibition World Bahrain, the largest convention centre in the region, will work towards achieving that objective.

The Minister affirmed that EWB will enhance the role of the tourism sector, and the Ministry of Tourism will continue to explore innovative, qualitative, and exceptional packages for more international exhibitions, conferences and events.

Al Sairafi noted that all three events hosted by EWB, including Cityscape Bahrain 2022, the Jewellery Arabia Exhibition, and the Scent Arabia Exhibition, were a great success in terms of sales and number of visitors.

The Minister highlighted that Cityscape Bahrain 2022 was held at a 9,500 sqm section of the exhibition centre, with representatives of 60 real-estate companies exhibiting 10,000 investment opportunities in eight different counties.

 She added that 10,000 visitors attended the exhibition, with a recorded sales volume of over $265 million. As for the Jewellery Arabia Exhibition, the Minister stated that the it was held on a 45,000 sqm area, with exhibitors from 30 countries representing major international companies and brands.

She highlighted that $887,757,629 items were on exhibit, a 74% jump from the last exhibition, with sales also increasing by 20% this year to $64,284,026.13.

The Minister added that EWB also hosted the first edition of Scent Arabia’s “The Perfume Expo”. The Expo was held on a 4,700 sqm area and featured 18 companies from five countries.
