CPISP announces scholarships procedures

The Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Programme (CPISP) announced that the application submission period for its 2017 scholarships will be from March 6 to 24, 2016.

The announcement was made during presentations held by the Programme at the Ministry of Education Hall for government school students, who met the Programme’s application criteria, to brief them about the application process requirements.

CPISP Head of Financial and Student Affairs, Shatha Ahmed Ali, said that the CPISP would begin accepting applications for 2017 scholarships starting from March 6 to 24, 2016. She added that the Programme’s application submission process and subsequent candidate training starts about one year before applicants graduate from secondary school.

“The CPISP application criteria require applicants to have Bahraini citizenship, be enrolled in the 11th grade and/or set to graduate from secondary school in 2017, and have a cumulative GPA of 97pc or above for grade 10 and the first semester of grade 11,” she elaborated.

Shatha Ahmed informed that the application form will be available on the website www.cpisp.bh. After receiving the applications and required attachments, the officials will contact the eligible applicants via email to inform them of their scheduled qualifying test dates, which the Programme will organise with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) to assess their English proficiency and reasoning abilities.

A minimum of 60 applicants will be selected based on the results of the qualifying tests and their Grade Point Averages, including 40 students from Ministry of Education Schools and 20 students from private schools.

The candidacy stage will involve training as well as courses in preparation for the IELTS and SAT exams, after which, the final 10 scholarship recipients will be selected. They will include three government schoolboys, three government schoolgirls, two private school boys and two private school girls.
