FM Dr. Al Zayani Meets US Secretary of State
Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani met today with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio during his visit to Bahrain to take part in the GCC–US Joint Ministerial Meeting.
The discussions focused on the long-standing friendship and strategic partnership between Bahrain and the United States, and ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation across various fields of mutual interest. This cooperation is framed within existing agreements between the two countries, including the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), aimed at advancing shared goals and mutual benefits for both nations and their peoples.
The meeting also addressed the latest regional developments and ongoing efforts to promote peace and stability in the region. This comes in light of the memorandum of understanding signed between the United States and Iran and the start of negotiations aimed at reaching a comprehensive agreement on outstanding issues.
Both sides exchanged views on key regional concerns and their implications for security and stability in the Middle East.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director General of Bilateral Relations; Ambassador Saeed Abdulkhaleq Saeed, Head of the Coordination and Follow-up Sector; and Salman Hassan Al Jalahma, Head of the Americas Affairs Sector.
