Sooner, faster!
Taking up the cudgels fordevelopment, Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has urged the implementation of approved projects at the earliest. During his visit to Muharraq Municipality yesterday, HRH Premier issued directives to give top priority to a number of development projects in Muharraq and expedite their implementation.
The projects include new central market, multi-storey park at the current premises of Muharraq Post, construction of the damaged part in the Muharraq Souk, roads, halls for visitors and facilities for shoppers at the Souk, acquiring land for the Muharraq branch of the University of Bahrain and revamping of Grand Muharraq Park. Prince Khalifa directed the Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning to revamp Al Dair and Samaheej Avenues and complete the Busaiteen Coast Project.
The Premier tasked the Ministerial Committee for Urbanisation and Infrastructure to follow-up the implementation of the aforesaid projects, in coordination with the relevant Ministries and government departments.
During the visit, Prince Khalifa held a meeting with the officials, in the presence of members of the Muharraq Municipal Council.
Stressing government’s keenness, Prince Khalifa said: “Our top priorities are achieving the aspirations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to fulfil the needs of our citizens.”
Reviewing the housing projects in Muharraq, HRH Premier also issued directives to the Housing Ministry and Muharraq Municipal Council Chairman Mohammed Al Snan and members were present on the occasion.
