Speaker chairs coordination meeting

Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, who is the Parliamentary Delegation Executive Committee head, has affirmed the importance of cooperation between the GCC legislative councils to back the governments’ efforts to handle the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and the exceptional circumstances resulting from it. She stressed the role of the GCC legislative councils’ meetings in boosting cooperation and mapping out plans and visions on various issues.
The Representatives Council Speaker said this as she chaired a coordination meeting of the parliamentary delegation, which convened to discuss participation in the 13th periodic meeting of the GCC General Assemblies Chairpersons, which is slated to be held today via visual communication technology. She affirmed the role of continuous GCC meetings in promoting unity and synergising efforts to tackle various issues.
