Bahrain TV makes young cancer patient’s wish come true

Bahrain Television has made the wish of a young cancer patient to appear live on TV come true. A group of young cancer patients from Deena Kanoo micro-school in Salmaniya Medical Complex were visiting the studios of the TV channel in Isa Town to gain insights into media facilities and careers when one of them, Riyadh, said that he wanted to appear live on national TV.

The young boy was so confident that the staff alerted Abdullah Khalid Al Dossari, the Assistant Undersecretary for Radio and Television. Abdullah spoke with Riyadh and the other patients, Zainab, 11, Maria, 10, Rabab, 11, who voiced support for the television appearance and he pledged to make their wish come true.

He allowed them inside the studio that was broadcasting live “Bahrain’s Sun”, a daily programme on events unfolding in the Kingdom with the participation of several Bahraini figures. The children sat on the sofa and answered questions asked by the presenters, who were seemingly pleased with the spontaneous responses and enthusiastic reactions.

The impromptu participation of the children in the live popular programme went viral on Bahrain’s social media, with most users praising the decision by Bahrain TV to grant the young patients their wish.
