Queen’s 92nd birthday
Manama : HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday took part in a celebration marking the 92nd birthday of Queen Elizabeth II on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Mohammed extending warm wishes to the Queen on behalf of HM the King, the Kingdom’s leadership and the people of Bahrain during the celebration held at the official residence of the British Ambassador in Manama.
His Highness hailed the Queen’s life-long commitment to public service and international cooperation, noting that Bahrain-UK relations are stronger and deeper than at any point during their 200-year-long partnership.
Bahrain and the UK have strengthened bilateral cooperation on defence, education and business, with the opening of the UK Naval Support Facility (NSF), the inauguration of the British University Bahrain (BUB), and the launch of the Pitch@Palace Bahrain 1.0 initiative.
The British Ambassador to Bahrain, Simon Martin, thanked Shaikh Mohammed for his thoughtful words and joined him in praising the historic partnership between Bahrain and the UK.
The event was attended by over 500 guests, including members of the Royal Family, senior government officials, and other dignitaries.
