Early conclusion of Off Track entertainment disappoints visitors

Manama : Yesterday marked the curtain fall on the biggest motorsports event of the year. Thousands of people showed up for the Bahrain Grand Prix and while many were excited to catch and root for their favourite race car drivers, others came to enjoy the plethora of entertainment, consisting of shows, exhibits, workshops and kids activities that had kept the excitement lingering for the first two days of the Grand Prix weekend.

However many of these spectators were left disappointed when they learned that the village vending area entertainment closed at 4pm yesterday, for the onset of the final race.

hmed Refaei, who was able to attend the 2017 Formula 1 event only yesterday, was upset when he found out his children wouldn’t be able to experience the ‘Dinosaur and Ice Age Tent.’  “It was one of the main reasons why we bought tickets and upon reaching around 4pm, we were told that the shows had concluded for that day, while they continued till 7pm and 7:30pm on the first two days.”

Another spectator, Jaffer Khwaja, who bought tickets for all 3 days, also missed out on catching a few shows arriving after 3:30pm, stating that the timings weren’t mentioned clearly. Although the entertainment schedule was available on the BIC website for download.

Despite the early closure of the shows and exhibits, many visitors still made the most of the spacious vending area and enjoyed the evening cool breeze as they snacked and took in the loud and exciting sounds of the race cars on the track.
