BTEA launches German office

Manama : The Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has launched its representative office in Berlin for the German-speaking market at ITB tourism exhibition. Speaking on the occasion, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani said: “Our tourism strategy is to grow international visitation from the current 12.3 million to 15.2m in 2018 and to expand direct flight connectivity from Germany (and the world) to Bahrain.” Al Zayani was taking part at the ITB in Berlin in the presence of Shaikh Khaled bin Humood Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of BTEA, and Nico Ortmann, General Manager of Aviareps, representing BTEA in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. More than fifty guests - representatives of the tourism industry and journalists - attended the welcome Reception held on 08 March 2017. Shaikh Khaled bin Humoud Al Khalifa stated: “Working together with our strong partners (from the hotel and airline industries), we want to create new tourism products that attract international travellers to Bahrain. “With our new brand campaign ‘Ours.Yours.Bahrain’ we want to showcase our traditions and unique authentic experience to the world,” he added. Nico Ortmann, General Manager of AVIAREPS Germany stated: “We are delighted to be representing Bahrain in the German-speaking market and looking forward to a long and prosperous relationship.”
