Potgieter appointed as new teaching professional

ManamaThe Royal Golf Club has welcomed new PGA Teaching Professional Zander Potgieter from Pretoria, South Africa to the Academy team. 

Potgieter spent five years in Saudi Arabia in his teenage and started playing golf at the age of ten after watching South African golfing legend Ernie Els in action on TV.

At aged 13 he was selected for the Gauteng North Provincial side and went on to pursue a career, graduating with a diploma in Club Professional Golfing and Management and completed his apprenticeship at the prestigious Pinnacle Point Estate in South Africa and graduated with the PGA as a full member in 2016.

“I’m delighted to be here in Bahrain and look forward to working with the Club’s members and visitors,” commented Potgieter. 

“There is no better satisfaction than seeing someone’s golf game improve, knowing that you helped that person achieve their goals, and I look forward to passing on my knowledge.” 

Potgieter joins Spanish golf instructor Juanma Fuentes at the Royal Golf Academy.
