‘Judiciary a monument of justice’

ManamaBahrain’s independent judiciary is a monument of justice and human rights, which has to be respected, said His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday.

The statements were made during a meeting with the Acting President of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) and President of the Court of Cassation, Chancellor Salim bin Mohammed Al Kuwari, and SJC members at Al Safriya Palace.

Urging Bahrainis to have confidence in the fairness of the Kingdom’s judicial system, HM King Hamad affirmed unwavering support to consolidate the independence of the judiciary, which, he said, plays a crucial role in preserving rights and strengthening the pillars of social security.

The consolidation of the principles of justice and equality are the cornerstones of Bahrain, His Majesty affirmed.

On the occasion, the acting SJC President submitted the annual judicial report for 2015 to HM the King.

Receiving the report, King Hamad lauded the dedicated efforts of SJC in serving the nation and its citizens.

Praising the report and its future plans aimed at developing the judicial system, King Hamad hailed the continuous progress witnessed by the judiciary in Bahrain, thanks to its infrastructure, legislation and competence of judges.

“Bahrain would always remain a land for all those living on it, without discrimination,” HM the King affirmed.
