Dr. Jawahery re-appointed InjAz Bahrain Chairman

Manama

The Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery has been named as the Chairman of InjAz Bahrain for a third term.

The appointment came as a result of Dr. Jawahery’s experience in the field of volunteer activities and the management of such programmes. He has also been instrumental in promoting and encouraging voluntary activities for students.

In a statement issued here yesterday, Dr. Jawahery thanked InjAz Chief Executive HH Sheikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa for her support and re-nomination. He stated that he would continue to cooperate with his fellow Board Members to introduce new ways to attract Bahraini experience and encourage youngsters to engage in voluntary activities as well as attracting more support from institutions and companies.

He said GPIC always worked to support InjAz and was keen to set it up as an example of what cooperation between private and government Bahraini institutions should be like. He added that GPIC is proud of the partnership and does all it can to contribute to the implementation of its programmes.

Dr. Jawahery said the Company plays a leading role in human development and contributes to various programmes that support human development and enhance their capacity so as to harness the full potential of Bahraini youth. He urged private sector companies and employees to contribute and volunteer for InjAz programmes to help students select their future work fields.

InjAz Bahrain, established in 2005 on the initiative of Shaikha Hessa, aims to educate young people about the value of work in life and introduce them to work ethic, as well as developing practical and personal skills and prepare them for the workforce.

It also seeks to serve the local community through programmes that communicate directly with youth groups in this community over the year. Since its establishment, it has also managed to attract the attention of most companies and institutions in Bahrain as partners in its work as well as students.

InjAz Bahrain is part of a global non-profit organization that has 119 members throughout the world.

An engineer of repute and an environmental specialist, Dr. Jawahery is the President of the International Fertilizer Association (IFA) and the Arab Fertilizer Association (AFA) as well as a member of Bahrain’s NOGA Holding since 2002. He is also a member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports.

At the regional level, Dr. Jawahary is currently a Board Member at the Gulf Petrochemical and Chemicals Association and Chairman of its Responsible Care Committee. He is also a prominent and influential figure in the petrochemical industry on a global scale. He is a Member of the United States’ National Safety Council and on its strategic committee and secretaries committee.

Dr. Jawahery holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from London and is a fellow of the British Institute of Chemical Engineers.
