Justice Minister Oversees Departure of Bahraini Pilgrims for Hajj
Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Hajj and Umrah Affairs, oversaw the departure of members of the Bahraini Hajj Mission at Bahrain International Airport as pilgrims continued their journey to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj.
The departure was attended by Ambassador Nayef bin Bandar Al Sudairi, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Bahrain, and Isa Sami Al Mannai, Undersecretary for Justice and Islamic Affairs.
Minister Al Maawda said the coordination among government entities during the Hajj season reflects the care of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to ensure the comfort, safety and wellbeing of Bahraini pilgrims throughout their journey.
He praised the role of the Saudi Embassy in Bahrain in strengthening cooperation and facilitating travel procedures for pilgrims, highlighting the strong coordination between both countries during the Hajj season.
The minister also noted that the early preparations and organisational measures implemented by Saudi authorities for the 1447 AH Hajj season have contributed to improving services and creating a smooth and comfortable environment for pilgrims to perform their rituals.
Al Maawda commended the efforts of Saudi authorities in serving pilgrims from across the Islamic world and thanked Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior, Bahrain Airport Company, the King Fahd Causeway Authority and all relevant entities for supporting the smooth departure process and ensuring efficient travel procedures for pilgrims.
