Bahrain’s Parliamentary Group used an Arab Scout Union assembly in Morocco to condemn the Iranian attacks and call for a united Arab parliamentary stand on regional security.
MP Jalal Kadhem, a member of the group, said Bahrain had worked to strengthen the rule of law, public institutions, citizenship, tolerance and joint Arab action under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
His remarks came during the 18th General Assembly of the Arab Scout Union for Parliamentarians, held in Morocco.
Mr Kadhem said Bahrain’s legislative branch was using parliamentary diplomacy, and its place at Arab and international gatherings, to rally support for solidarity and a united stance against Iranian interference in the internal affairs of states.
He said the group had stressed respect for sovereignty, the protection of national interests, and the safety of citizens and residents, while urging dialogue and diplomacy to preserve security in the region and protect the world economy.
The group is headed by MP Mohammed Al Olaiwi and includes Shura Council member Ridha Munfaridi and MP Jalal Kadhem.
Mr Kadhem said the group had presented Bahrain’s efforts to the meeting, alongside those of Arab and friendly countries, in response to the Iranian aggression. It had also sought to explain Bahrain’s position, the effect on regional security, Arab states and the world economy, and the need for closer Arab parliamentary co-ordination.
