Man gets jail for defaming HM King
Manama : The Lower Criminal Court has sentenced a man to two years in prison for defaming His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa through offensive comments on social media platforms.
According to court files, the remarks were published between 2013 and 2016.
The defendant instigated the public against the regime and degraded the Leadership through his posts. He has been charged with misuse of telecommunication devices and defaming HM the King.
