BCCI for greater Russian trade ties

Manama  : The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) yesterday announced it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SPCCI) to boost economic relations between Bahrain and the Russian Federation. 

The deal, signed by BCCI Chairman Khalid Al Moayyed and Vladimir Katenev President of SPCCI in Bait Al Tijjar, promotes reinforcing exchange of market information, enhancing exchange of business delegations, promoting trade and investment, and expanding cooperation among entrepreneurs and organisations.

The First and second deputies of BCCI Chairman Khalid Al Zayani and Abdulhameed Al Kooheji, respectively, and vice-chairman of the Bahraini side of the Bahraini-Russian Joint Business Council Jawad Al Hawaj were also present.  

During the meeting, both sides expressed enthusiasm about the Bahrain-Russia forum and the B2B meetings to be held tomorrow at 9:30am in Kingdom Hall of Bait Al Tijjar. The meeting hosts a high-level Russian business delegation headed by Governor of Saint Petersburg Poltavchenko Georgy and representatives of a large number of companies from various sectors including the education, healthcare and hospitals, tourism and culture, transport, electricity and water, and construction.  In this regard, Al Moayyed called the business community in Bahrain to attend the important event and seize the opportunity to meet the Russian delegation and mull business opportunities. Representatives from Tamkeen and Bahrain Investors Centre delivered presentations showcasing the unique features of the Bahraini economy and  facilities offered.
