Favourite Chopin bags richest race

Manama : Third favourite Chopin owned by Maher Ebrahim Lutfalla, trained by Abdulla Kuwaiti and ridden by Alberto Sanna won the seventh and richest race for the HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa Cup for imported three years and upwards over 1,600 metres and worth BD12,000 yesterday, in the 24th meeting of the season at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club in Sakhir.

Coming in second place three quarters of a length behind was Rogue Wave owned by Hussain A Amir Hussain Jaboori, trained by Basem Mahdi and ridden by S Sanders, ahead by three quarters of a length from Dagher owned by Al-Afoo Racing Stable, trained by Mohammed Hassan and ridden by Brett Doyle, while a short head behind in fourth was the favourite Vale Do Sol owned by Fawzi Abdulla Nass, trained by Fawzi Nass and ridden by Hussain Makki.

Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait supported three of the other six races at the meeting.
