GCC-Latin American nations ink cooperation agreement
Manama: Several cooperation agreements have been signed between GCC countries and Latin American and Caribbean countries during the 134th International Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly, which is currently taking place in Zambia.
The participating delegations agreed to strengthen parliamentary cooperation, mutual coordination and support economic, investment and security matters.
Representing Bahrain in the meetings were Shura Council Deputy Chairman Jamal Fakhro, Shura Council Member Dr Saeed Al Yamani and Council of Representatives’ Member Mohammed Al Jowder.
Fakhro said in a statement that the political circumstances in the Middle East and its developments were discussed in the meetings. He stressed on the efforts of Saudi Arabia in eliminating terrorism in the region and foreign interferences in the internal affairs of regional countries.
The parliamentary delegations of GCC, Arabian and Islamic countries that are participating in the assembly supported the GCC candidates for leading posts in the IPU.
