Five Asian Nationals Arrested in Bahrain Drug Cases

More than 2.5kg of narcotics and psychotropic substances worth over BD40,000 seized

Anti-Narcotics Directorate arrested five Asian nationals in three separate drug-related cases, seizing more than 2.5kg of narcotics and psychotropic substances valued at over BD40,000.

The Ministry of Interior said the arrests were carried out as part of ongoing efforts by the Anti-Narcotics Directorate at the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science to combat drug-related offences and protect society.

The suspects, aged between 39 and 46, were arrested following investigations into information received by the authorities. One of the three cases was handled in coordination with Customs Affairs.

Investigations led to the identification and arrest of the suspects and the seizure of the drugs and psychotropic substances in their possession.

Legal procedures have been completed to refer the cases to the Public Prosecution.

The General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science also stressed the importance of community cooperation in preventing drug-related crimes and raising public awareness about the dangers of drugs.
