Mixed Trap Ends Bahrain Shooting Campaign

Bahrain concluded its shooting campaign at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, yesterday, with Saeed Hasan Ali and Marwa Buarki finishing 11th in the trap mixed team qualification.
The Bahraini pair combined for a total of 130 points across three rounds at the Aichi Prefectural General Shooting Gallery. Buarki contributed 67, with rounds of 23, 21 and 23, while Ali recorded 63 after scores of 20, 22 and 21.
Their total left Bahrain 11th in the 12-team field and outside the top four places required to advance to the final.
China topped qualification with 142 points, setting a new Asian Games qualification record, while Qatar followed on 139. Iran placed third with 138 and India completed the four qualifiers on 136.
The final produced a reversal at the top, with India’s Neeru and Kynan Chenai going on to claim the gold medal.
Qatar’s Ray Bassil and Mohammed Al Rumaihi secured silver, while Chinese pair Sun Yunong and Qi Ying, who had led the qualifying round, settled for bronze.
