Bahrain Space Agency Reviews Projects, Future Initiatives

The Bahrain Space Agency (BSA) board held its third regular meeting of the year, chaired by Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Jaber Al Khalifa, Deputy National Security Advisor and Deputy Secretary General of the Supreme Defence Council.

Shaikh Khalid bin Ali highlighted BSA’s role in implementing the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and commended the agency’s progress over the past three months.

The board reviewed updates on BSA projects and initiatives, including completion rates against approved performance indicators. It also discussed proposals for new projects and initiatives and reviewed the agency’s participation in regional and international events.

The meeting highlighted BSA’s efforts to strengthen international cooperation, exchange expertise with global space organisations and expand Bahrain’s presence in the space sector.

The board also reviewed progress in implementing previous decisions and recommendations, stressing continuity, governance and institutional transparency.

Future initiatives were discussed in line with BSA’s 2024–2028 strategic plan, which focuses on developing space infrastructure, building national capabilities and strengthening Bahrain’s position in the global space sector.

Board members commended BSA’s programmes and services and reaffirmed their support for its continued development.
