GCC Moves to Shape the Future of Gulf Jobs
Bahrain chaired a meeting of labour ministry undersecretaries from GCC countries as part of its presidency of the 46th session of the GCC Supreme Council.
Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour, chaired the meeting via videoconference to prepare for the 12th meeting of GCC labour ministers.
The meeting discussed strengthening labour market cooperation, advancing the GCC common market and expanding quality private-sector opportunities for Gulf citizens. Officials also reviewed the GCC Labour Ministers Committee’s 2024–2029 strategy, initiatives on platform-based work and efforts to coordinate positions at Arab and international forums.
The participants also examined key challenges facing Gulf labour markets and exchanged experiences on youth training and accelerating their integration into GCC labour markets.
