His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund “Tamkeen”, today chaired the Board of Directors Meeting.
His Highness affirmed that strengthening the private sector enhances its contribution to the national economy, and investing in Bahraini talent remains essential to the Kingdom’s comprehensive development journey under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
His Highness also emphasized the importance of building on existing achievements through the continuation of impactful programs and initiatives that support enterprise growth and competitiveness. He also underscored the importance of creating opportunities for Bahrainis to develop skills aligned with labor market needs, reinforcing the position of national talent as the preferred choice in the labor market.
During the meeting, His Highness congratulated His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the occasion of Tamkeen’s 20th anniversary. He highlighted that Tamkeen’s achievements over the past two decades reflect the Kingdom’s vision for economic development and the advancement of the private sector as a key development partner. His Highness reaffirmed Tamkeen’s commitment to enhancing its impact in support of Bahrain’s economic priorities in the next phase.
The Board reviewed updates on Tamkeen’s programs, as well as progress on initiatives under the Fund’s 2026 – 2030 strategy. It also reviewed several new and enhanced programs planned for launch, including updated financing solutions, a consultancy support program, a business growth program, and a specialized labor market skills program.
His Highness directed the continued development of programs and initiatives to remain responsive to evolving economic conditions and labor market needs, while strengthening investment in Bahraini talent development across all support programs.
During the meeting, Her Excellency Ms. Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Chief Executive of the Labour Fund “Tamkeen”, presented the Fund’s key performance indicators for programs supporting individuals and enterprises. More than 21,000 opportunities were supported to enhance the employment and career development of Bahrainis up to the third quarter of 2026, meeting 74% of the annual target. In addition, more than 7,000 enterprises have been supported to enhance their growth, competitiveness, and sustainability, meeting 79% of the target set for the year.
The Board also reviewed updates on the “Musanada Program”, launched to support enterprises affected by the recent hostile Iranian aggression. The program reflects Tamkeen’s commitment to supporting workforce stability within private sector enterprises, ensuring business continuity, and enabling enterprises to navigate challenges. The program, which aims to support 7,250 companies, has benefited over 8,300 branches to date through its various support tracks, contributing to the job stability of more than 11,400 Bahraini employees within less than five months. Micro and small enterprises accounted for 92% of “Musanada Program” beneficiaries, reflecting the broad reach of the program and its successful delivery of support to enterprises most in need, strengthening their ability to sustain operations and grow.
These results and programs are aligned with Tamkeen’s strategic priorities, which focus on supporting initiatives with high economic impact, enhancing the competitiveness of the private sector, connecting skills with the needs of the labor market, and adopting innovative approaches to stimulate private sector growth and financing, and implementing programs that enhance the Fund’s efficiency and effectiveness by developing internal mechanisms and continuously strengthening governance.
