Environment Month festival launched
Manama: Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) Chief Executive Dr Mohammed Mubarak bin Dainah inaugurated the Environment Month festival yesterday under the theme “Let’s Work for a Sustainable Environment” and a photo gallery on wild life.
He inaugurated on behalf of Personal Representative of His Majesty the King and SCE President Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Ministers, ambassadors to Bahrain and other officials attended the celebration held at the Sofitel Hotel in Zallaq.
Dr bin Dainah toured the venue and was briefed about the photos gallery, which showcases pictures taken by photographers who are interested in wild life.
He stressed that protecting wild life in Bahrain is one of the goals of SCE in order to achieve sustainable development in the environment field.
The photos on display at the gallery will be showcased to the public at the Arts Hall at Bahraini Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) on March 15.
