Bahraini teenagers stabs friend to death
Manama:A Bahraini teenager stabbed his friend to death by yesterday’s dawn in Halat Bumaher area in Muharraq.
Interior Ministry stated at around 3:30 AM yesterday that “a youngster was killed and two others were injured in a stabbing incident in Muharraq,” adding that the “the concerned authorities are investigating the incident.”
Twelve hours later, the ministry confirmed the arrest of the killer in a statement.
The statement read, “Muharraq Governorate Police Director General Brigadier Zuhair Al Absi announced the arrest of a person suspected to stab another with sharp object to death in a fight at dawn in Halat Bumaher area.”
Al Absi’s statements explained further, “The case was reported by the hospital of the admission of a patient with stab wounds who was brought to hospital in a private car. The victim, 21, died at the hospital. The police rushed to the scene and collected evidence as part of the legal proceedings. The Public Prosecution was notified.”
The Brigadier added, “Through investigation, the suspect, 19, was identified and arrested. Legal proceedings are being taken to refer the case to the Public Prosecution.”
Speaking to DT News yesterday, few residents of Halat Bumaher identified the victim as Abdulqader Al Kooheji. They confirmed that his body was buried in Muharraq Cemetery by noon yesterday.
They narrated the details of the incident saying, “Abdulqader and the killer, nineteen-year-old Fahad Rebee’a, were actually friends. They had a disagreement between them and planned to meet, so they can sort it out.”
“The deceased met the killer near his relatives’ house, located on Road 1612, Block 216. The killer was waiting alone, but the deceased came along with three friends,” residents confirmed.
The explained more, “The deceased was playing with a knife in his hands when he came to meet the killer. This provoked him to grab his hand and take the knife from him. He stabbed him thrice in the legs, once in his stomach and twice in the back, splashing his blood all over the concrete. He also injured some of the deceased’s friends in the attack, before fleeing the scene.”
Some of the residents said that the disagreement is believed to be over drugs, but this information could not be verified.
They added that the victim was taken by one of the accompanying friends to King Hamad University Hospital, where he was declared dead.
When DT News visited the area, yesterday’s rains have spread the victim’s blood all over the concrete at the crime scene, pushing some of the residents to cover it with sand.
The deceased’s family announced that condolences could be offered at Al Zamil Majlis in Hidd area. No further details about the killer’s fate was available. Additionally, the area’s parliamentary representative, Isa Al Kooheji, could not be reached for a comment.
