DANAT Delivers Specialist Pearl and Gemstone Training at Youth City 2030

The Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gemstones (DANAT) is participating in the 15th edition of Youth City 2030 with a specialist training course developed in collaboration with Al Kooheji Jewellery. The initiative forms part of the programme organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs in partnership with the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) at Exhibition World Bahrain.
The course introduces participants to pearls and gemstones, as well as the factors that have established Bahrain as the historic home of natural pearls and a prominent regional centre for the industry, while highlighting potential careers in pearl and gemstone testing, jewellery design and related fields.
The course covers five core subjects: pearls, rubies, emeralds, sapphires and diamonds, where participants learn about the defining characteristics of each, the principal criteria applied in their examination and assessment, and the advanced tools and equipment used by industry professionals.
Commenting on DANAT’s participation, Mrs. Noora Jamsheer, Chief Executive Officer of (DANAT), said: “Our annual participation in Youth City 2030 provides a valuable platform to introduce young Bahrainis to a sector deeply rooted in the Kingdom’s history, economy and cultural identity. Through this course, we aim to create an engaging learning environment that brings participants closer to the world of pearls and gemstones and familiarises them with professional testing and assessment methods, as well as the latest equipment used in the field.”
Mrs. Jamsheer added: “The sector offers promising career prospects for individuals with specialist knowledge, precision and practical expertise. DANAT remains committed to sharing its experience with the next generation, attracting more Bahraini talent and giving participants a strong foundation to pursue further education and careers in pearl and gemstone testing, jewellery design and associated disciplines.”
DANAT’s participation reflects its commitment to broadening career horizons for young Bahrainis and introducing them to opportunities in highly specialised industries. It also supports the objectives of Youth City 2030 by developing practical skills, encouraging career exploration and connecting participants with national institutions and industry professionals. The initiative contributes to preparing Bahraini talent capable of supporting the Kingdom’s position as a leading global hub for natural pearls and gemstones.
