Salmaniya Medical Complex boosts critical care capacity
The Minister of Health, Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hasan, inaugurated the expanded resuscitation room at the Accident and Emergency Unit of Salmaniya Medical Complex, in the presence of Dr. Mariam Athbi Al Jalahma, Chief Executive Officer of Government Hospitals, along with senior officials and medical staff.
The Minister said the expansion reflects ongoing national efforts to strengthen the healthcare system and further enhance services provided by emergency and accident units, which play a vital role in managing critical and life-threatening cases.
She added that increasing the resuscitation room's capacity will improve response times and overall efficiency in handling emergencies. She also stressed that continuously developing healthcare infrastructure and medical equipment remains a key priority to ensure safe, high-quality, and sustainable healthcare services in line with international standards and best practices.
Dr. Mariam Athbi Al Jalahma said the upgraded facility significantly enhances emergency services at Salmaniya Medical Complex. She noted that the design and equipment were tailored to meet operational needs and support medical and nursing teams in managing critical cases more effectively.
The expansion increased the resuscitation room capacity from eight to 15 beds, allowing the unit to handle a larger number of critical cases simultaneously. Two of the beds have been designated as isolation units equipped for patients requiring infection control measures.
