Nasser Centre, GARMCO Sign MoU to Strengthen Vocational Training

Partnership to launch specialised apprenticeship programme in welding and mechanical engineering for around 40 trainees

Manama, Sep. 7 (BNA) — The Nasser Centre for Science and Technology has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Gulf Aluminium Rolling Mill Company (GARMCO) to strengthen cooperation between the education and industrial sectors, particularly in vocational training and technical development.

The agreement was signed by Sana Al Kuhaji, Director of Industrial Partnerships at the Nasser Centre for Science and Technology, and Fahad Al Bassam, Executive Manager of Administrative Affairs at GARMCO.

Under the MoU, the two sides will cooperate in implementing a specialised apprenticeship programme in welding and mechanical engineering for around 40 trainees.

The programme will combine theoretical instruction with practical applications, providing participants with technical skills and hands-on experience relevant to manufacturing and industrial development.

The partnership reflects the Centre’s ongoing efforts to empower the national workforce and prepare young Bahrainis with the technical expertise and practical skills needed to meet the requirements of the industrial sector and evolving labour market.

The agreement will also establish specialised working groups to identify key areas of cooperation and organise innovation workshops focusing on the value of technical and vocational applications in vital sectors, occupational safety and smart manufacturing.

The partnership highlights the shared commitment of the Nasser Centre for Science and Technology and GARMCO to promoting vocational training and advanced solutions as drivers of national development, while enabling local talent to harness technology and practical expertise to support sustainable growth, innovation and industrial development.
