Bahrain Hands Arab League Leadership to Tunisia
Bahrain participated in the 166th Ordinary Session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the Ministerial Level, held at the headquarters of the League’s General Secretariat in Cairo.
The Kingdom’s delegation was headed by Fawzia Zainal, Ambassador of Bahrain to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States.
Ambassador Zainal delivered Bahrain’s statement in the Kingdom’s capacity as President of the Council’s 165th Ministerial Session, conveying the greetings of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and his wishes for the success of the new session in advancing Arab countries' interests and strengthening joint Arab action.
She congratulated Tunisia on assuming the presidency of the 166th Session, expressing Bahrain’s confidence in Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, to lead the Council’s work with efficiency and competence.
Ambassador Zainal also renewed Bahrain’s congratulations to Nabil Fahmy on assuming his duties as Secretary General of the League of Arab States, wishing him success in leading the General Secretariat and enhancing its role in supporting joint Arab action.
She expressed Bahrain’s appreciation to the League’s member states and General Secretariat for their cooperation and support throughout the Kingdom’s presidency of the 165th Session.
Ambassador Zainal affirmed that the achievements made during Bahrain’s presidency reflected a shared Arab will and demonstrated Arab solidarity's ability to translate into effective positions and diplomatic action at international forums.
