HM King Restructures Information & eGovernment Authority

 

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has issued Decree (48) of 2026, restructuring the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), following a proposal by the Minister of Interior and approval by the Cabinet.

Under the decree, the iGA will be headed by a Chief Executive at the rank of Undersecretary, overseeing communications and marketing, human and financial resources, strategic planning and projects, and innovation and advanced technologies.

The authority will also have four Deputy Chief Executives, each holding the rank of Assistant Undersecretary.

Their portfolios will cover statistics and population registry, operations and governance, eTransformation, and shared information technology services.

The Statistics and Population Registry sector will oversee population and demographic statistics, economic statistics, and identity and population registry.

Operations and Governance will cover infrastructure services, government systems support and maintenance, and geographical information systems.

The eTransformation sector will oversee change management, eServices, eChannels and government systems development, while shared IT services will cover coordination, operations, governance and enterprise architecture.
