Bahrain official joins China Media Group Forum on AI

The forum, jointly organised by China Media Group and the municipal authorities of Chongqing, brought together more than 300 government officials, media professionals, and representatives of international organisations. Discussions focused on the future of media and communications in the age of artificial intelligence, as well as strengthening cooperation among Global South countries.

Abduljabbar took part in the forum’s second and closing panel session titled “Reshaping Inclusion, Equity and Justice: Envisioning the AI Wave from a Global South Cooperation Perspective.” She highlighted the commitment of Bahrain to leveraging artificial intelligence to support development across key sectors and enhance national competitiveness.

She also outlined the ongoing transformation within Bahrain’s government communications sector, noting efforts to convert the challenges of AI adoption into opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement. She stressed the importance of maximising the impact of emerging technologies on media and communications strategies.

The forum featured a series of panel discussions and side events that provided participants with a platform to exchange expertise and explore international best practices in media. Key themes included digital transformation and the use of AI in content production, with a broader aim of improving media performance standards and shaping the future direction of the industry.
