Bahrain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, held a phone call today with Somalia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdul Salam Abdi Ali.
The two sides discussed the latest regional developments and ongoing efforts to strengthen security and stability in the region, particularly the protection of maritime navigation. They also addressed the implications of Iran’s continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz on international trade, the global economy, and food and humanitarian supply chains.
Both officials exchanged views on enhancing bilateral cooperation and coordination within their membership at the United Nations Security Council, aiming to support efforts to activate UN resolutions related to ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
