Iran aggression ‘unjustified and shocking’

His Excellency Alastair Long, the UK Ambassador to Bahrain, has condemned Iran’s attacks on Bahrain and its partners in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
He described them as unjustified, shocking and a clear violation of international law.
In a video posted on the website of the British Embassy in Bahrain, the Ambassador said the UK strongly condemned the attacks targeting Bahrain and other GCC countries.
“These attacks are completely unjustified, shocking and illegal,” he said.

H.E. Ambassador Long said he was deeply saddened to learn that a number of people had been injured in Bahrain as a result of the strike that targeted the kingdom overnight.
He noted that the limited number of injuries so far reflected the exceptional efforts made by Bahraini authorities to protect the public.
The Ambassador added that Iran’s actions were unacceptable and stressed that the UK would join Bahrain in condemning the attacks at the United Nations Security Council.
Iran launched the attack on the Sitra area late on Sunday night, leaving around 32 citizens injured, including children.
